Action – A judicial proceeding where one party takes another party to court for the redress of a wrong. In the Ontario Small Claims Court an action is more commonly referred to as a lawsuit, case or claim.
In the Ontario Small Claims Court an action is commenced by the filing of a Plaintiff’s Claim (Form 7A) and paying the corresponding court filing fee of $75.
The following are some things to keep in mind when filing a Small Claims Court action in Ontario:
- A Plaintiff’s Claim may be for either the recovery of money or the return of personal property up to $25,000.

I Bought a New DeskMy Christmas gift to myself was a new Computer Desk. I have been using a student desk for the last year and while it has been okay, it was not the best set up for me since I was very limited with desktop space.
