I love using Rosetta Stone to help my children pick up new language skills, and some of the Rosetta Stone Reviews I’ve seen online gave me a lot of good ideas on how to improve their home-schooling.

One of the best ideas I’ve seen was to integrate the Rosetta lessons with some activities done in the same week. For instance, Level 1 contains a lesson about shopping, so we take the children out for shopping a couple of days after the lesson (they love the experience anyway) and we try to remember the vocabulary and sentences used during the lesson. We have a lot of fun together asking for various items in French, and having the salesperson looking at us all confused. Then, on Level 2, there’s a nice lesson about traveling, so I will schedule that for just before our yearly vacation, so we can have some more fun on the road and get even more people confused with our French.

When I was in high school I took Spanish classes. At that time I was not very interested in the language and I do not remember very much of what I studied. Sometimes I wish I could turn back the clock and pay more attention in those classes. I would really like to learn Spanish now. I am going to be going to Spain for three months and so I am going to take Spanish classes in Barcelona. I think that it is going to be interesting to learn Spanish in Spain, instead of learning how to speak Spanish from people in Latin America. I really like the accent that people from Spain have. I think that it is also going to be very interesting and fun to live in Barcelona. I have not traveled outside of the United States very much and so this is going to be a big adventure for me.
